“Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced ”
It is time to face the harsh truth and reality of the deleterious effects of some of this nation’s founding principles on Black, Indigenous and People of Color. Those principles, as posited by Professor Christina Greer of Fordham University, include white supremacy, anti-black racism, patriarchy and predatory capitalism. These principles are antithetical to our values, vision and mission.
The Georgia Breastfeeding Coalition recognizes the importance of breastfeeding and its role in positive and constructive human development. We must do everything in our power to recognize and rectify past injustices and provide the support that families need to meet their breastfeeding goals.
Black mothers, babies, and families matter.
Power to the mothers, our hope for the future.
